Hello! We at Coldwater Yoga take pride in always making the health and safety of our students and staff our top priority. That’s why we temporarily closed our studio a week before it was mandatory due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Since the day we closed, we have stepped outside our comfort zone and into the sometimes-confusing technology/social media zones. At first, offering online classes seemed unattainable. I’ve always loved working with my students in person and could not wrap my head around teaching online. How would I cue students and suggest modifications for poses? How would I completely immerse in the practice of yoga without being in person in the studio with my students? Ultimately, my commitment to continue to share my passion with my community gave me a new-found respect for the technology that could help me do just that.
Coldwater Yoga is excited to announce our quality online classes are up and running and available through Facebook and Instagram Live as well as Zoom. Zoom is particularly exciting because it allows me to the see and interact with students, cueing them into the poses at their individual pace and level. When I heard students voices and saw their faces during my first Zoom class I knew we could make this work.
During trying times, it’s especially important to keep the body moving. Stress wreaks havoc on not just our mood, but on our immune system as well. Moving the body reduces stress, reducing stress boosts our immune system to protect us from nasty viruses and other illnesses. LET US HELP YOU MOVE! We understand these are challenging times and that’s why we are offering a variety of free classes including, Chair Yoga, Re-energizing Yoga and Qigong to name a few. We hope that our free classes can help bring some peace, a little normalcy and comfort to our community during this current situation. We are also offering reduced rates on all of our specialty classes (including Masterclasses that deepen students’ understanding and practice of yoga) and offering packages. Now that we’ve entered the Technology/Social Media Zones we plan to continue these types of classes even when the studio is re-opened and we resume our in-person classes.
