Membership Spotlight: Tree House

COLDWATER — Meet two of our latest members. The owners of The Tree House Provision Center, Courtney Sekela and Amanda Wills, are poised to be the first to obtain the permits
and licenses needed to open their Adult Use Recreational Facility here in
the city of Coldwater. It has been almost three years since Michigan voters
overwhelmingly approved the legalization of adult-use recreational
Marijuana, but the Coldwater City Council only began issuing permits for
Marijuana storefronts late last year. “To our knowledge, we’re the only
local businesspeople to obtain any of the recreational permits that have
been granted by the City,” said Courtney Sekela, co-creator. “We’ve been
growing our business in Coldwater for years now. Our families live here,
our children go to school here, and our customers seek us out for an
experience they can’t get from anyone else.”
“We have been working to achieve this goal for 7 years, and we couldn’t be
happier to see it finally come to fruition.” said The Tree House’s co-creator
Amanda Wills. “From the beginning it’s just been [my business partner]
Courtney and me; we don’t have any big investors. We’re really proud to be
leading the way in introducing a new industry to Coldwater.” At their May
3 meeting, the Coldwater Planning Commission recommended announcing
a 90-day moratorium on further Marijuana Licensing application due to
the overwhelming business interest in opening new Production and Retail
operations.
Sekela and Wills are no strangers to creating interesting retail
destinations. The pair already operate The Tree House Garden Center in
Coldwater, which recently relocated to a revamped location in Downtown
Coldwater, now open at 34 E Chicago St. They also own The Nest in
Camden, MI, a medical and recreational Provisioning Center. The Tree
House Provision Center can be found on the web at
www.mastersofthetreehouse.com, and will be open for business 9am-9pm
7 days a week at their location in the woods at 894 E. Chicago St. in
Coldwater.
894 E. CHICAGO ST., COLDWATER, MI 49036
They are offering a 15% discount to all Chamber members. Just bring in your key card.
