About Us
Whether your child is interested in an associate degree program leading to a bachelor's or higher degree or an associate degree or certificate program leading immediately to a career, Lake Land College can help.
The student is the most important person at Lake Land College. While here, your child will receive quality instruction from highly qualified and caring faculty. The average class size is 22, so faculty are able to know their students. They are also available during established office hours when students can drop in for help
The college's sensible tuition and financial aid programs can make college life a lot easier for your family. You can save up to $10,000 if your child attends Lake Land rather than a four-year university for the first two years of college. Our textbook rental system provides students with books for about $225 a year, a savings of about $675 from other colleges.
Sixty percent of our students receive financial aid and more than 300 students were awarded scholarships from the Lake Land College Foundation.
Our counselors are available to meet with you and your child and assist you in mapping an educational plan. They are experts in program requirements and transfer requirements for four-year institutions.
There is a housing complex adjacent to campus and housing opportunities in Mattoon.
On campus, students have access to several computer labs and the latest in technology in the classrooms and the Virgil H. Judge Learning Resource Center. Our faculty are teaching courses on the Internet and supplementing coursework with web-based learning.
