Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) selected Brady Haynes as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Brady will serve as the operations executive in the district’s C-suite, joining the executive leadership team to further the district’s commitment to providing high-quality, patient-focused healthcare care to the Lake Almanor Basin and surrounding areas. Brady’s arrival comes at a time of transformation for the organization as the district works towards building a new hospital and continuing our efforts of a multi-year plan to expand services in the clinic and hospital.

Drama lives at CHS once more! We had our first performance last week at the Chester Elementary Gym and it was a smashing success. Community members showed up by the dozens, as well as our Superintendent Bill Roderick.
Big thanks to our drama students, who worked hard both onstage and behind the scenes, and CHS Drama teacher Mr. Cragg for bringing this play to life.

Lake Almanor Community Suppers are supported by the Almanor Basin Food Pantry with a purpose of connecting the community through in person dining at the Chester Memorial Hall.  
Dinner will be served to individual/in person diners beginning at 5:00pm to 5:30pm.  Those picking up meals to deliver to those who cannot come to the Chester Memorial Hall will be able to join the line for food service after 5:30pm.

Road Access: 
Lassen National Park Highway is open to Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center for vehicle travel from State Highway 36. Check Caltrans for conditions before travel. 
Oversnow Route Conditions:

Camping: 
Overnight parking is permitted in the southwest parking lot. No tents permitted unless following Backcountry Regulations.
Facilities: 
The Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center and Lassen Association Store are open Wed. - Sun. from 9:30am - 4:30pm. 
Lassen Cafe & Gift Shop is Open Friday-Sunday 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Food selection limited to prepackaged snacks and drinks.
Ranger-led Programs: 
Ranger-led Snowshoe Walks are offered every Saturday and Sunday through the last weekend of March at 1:30 PM (weather permitting). Space is limited. Learn more.

Northwest Area:

Snow Conditions:
6+ inches of snow in the vicinity of Manzanita Lake. 
Road Access: 
Lassen National Park Highway is open to Loomis Plaza for vehicle travel from State Highway 44. Check Caltrans for conditions before travel.

Lassen Association Store is located in the Loomis Residence. Open Friday - Sunday through winter.

The Jerry & Yvonne Kehr Education Fund was established in the Fall of 2023 as a memorial to their work in Plumas County. The Kehrs believed that the future lies in our youth and it is our responsibility to nurture and empower the younger generation, which contributes to the health, growth and longevity of the community.
The mission of the fund is to support educational, artistic, and vocational initiatives in Plumas
County and provide resources that enhance learning avenues for students of all ages. The fund aims to foster educational opportunities and excellence, promote innovation, and ensure equal access to education for all.

We are so very excited to be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Courage Triathlon!
Our rural communities have been fighting the exploitation of human trafficking for over nine years and making a difference.
This year has to be the biggest and the best!  We have a new home opening in Reno this year and it will be well known that Plumas/Lassen County were essential in making this happen by its on going support! 
We hope you will embrace the passion and meaning behind the journey of the Courage Triathlon and share share share with your community who have made the past nine years possible!
