Purpose:
This role serves alongside and with the support of the Mission: Families Director of Collective Impact. The Early Childhood Coordinator provides administrative and project-related support, facilitates communication and community outreach, provides regular data analysis and reporting, and assists with the development of the LENA Grow (www.lena.org) effort, as well as early childhood efforts. This is a program that helps parents/caregivers and early childhood educators understand the importance of talking with their children, early brain development, and literacy for early care through back-and-forth conversational turns through research-based professional training and development.

Position Main Functions:
1. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to early childhood efforts, including, and not limited to LENA Grow:
• Plan, organize, convene, and provide facilitation support to meetings.
• Develop a schedule, prepare meeting agendas and related handouts, track all decisions, and assure appropriate logistics.
• Respond to requests as needed to facilitate continuous communication within the network, including staff, partners, and LENA Grow constituents.
• Lead meetings, overall coordination, and document all proceedings.

2. Project-Related Support: In coordination with the Director of Collective Impact, develop and/or maintain planning tools to assist the LENA Grow and early childhood efforts with implementation of aligned action plans.
• Work with the Director of Collective Impact to organize and monitor action plans to maintain accountability for implementation of group recommendations and action priorities.
• Maintain files and other records for open communication and continuous improvement.

3. Communication & Community Outreach: Manage interconnections of early childhood programs, initiatives, and systems-initiatives.
• In coordination with Mission: Families, Director of Collective Impact, produce an electronic newsletter.
• Build effective working relationships with all internal and external constituents.

4. Data Development & Reporting: In coordination with the Director of Community Research and Director of Collective Impact, assist in efforts to track data and assess progress related to the collective impact work.
• Help analyze data and prepare data reports, as needed, for all stakeholders.
• Oversee the production of an annual early childhood Data Report in conjunction with the Impact Report.


Key Skill Sets:
• Familiar with early childhood systems building strategies, with understanding of how early learning, family support, health and developmental systems are all parts of a larger system of care for young children and their families.
• Familiar with how poverty and other inequities impact children and families.
• Collaborative facilitation skills, shared leadership skills with diverse communities.
• Management and organizational skills, including ability to track multiple details and set up systems to maintain data and information.
• Strategic planning and evaluation skills.
• Personable and inclusive communication skills.
• Familiar with/or willingness to learn about Collective Impact, Results Based Accountability (RBA), collaborative leadership practices, and dEi (diversity, Equity, and inclusion).

Position Preferences:
• Interdisciplinary background, with professional experience in educational and community settings.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Education, Public Health, Social Work with at least one year of experience or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood with management experience, or equivalent work and life experience.
• Skill in Microsoft Office products.
• Able to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel to partner sites.
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are especially valuable to this role.
