ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements food product information.
Participates in product improvement projects.
Conducts directed research to understand and control the parameters which are important to product quality.
Integrates published ideas in research activities which impact the manufacturing processes.
Establishes finished product manufacturing procedures, packaging specifications, ingredient specifications and finished product specifications.
Using protocols, drafts raw ingredient specifications for review.
Prepares nutritional evaluations using nutritional database software.
Provides technical assistance on product information and specifications as well as on food safety projects, including HACCP.
Works on costing verification in conjunction with other departments.
Interfaces with vendors and suppliers on product development projects.
Complies with USDA/FDA regulations.
Interacts with different departments.
EDUCTION:

Bachelor of Science in Foods Science, Food Engineering or Food Technology.
REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 1 year experience in a food technology, food science or food engineering environment.
Experience with nutritional evaluations, sensory panels and product microwavability.
Experience with food manufacturing, packaging and product safety standards.
Experience with or knowledge of Mexican food industry.
Ability to organize and manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously.
Ability to review and prepare detailed reports.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations in algebra, ratios, variances, discounts & percentages.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to detect and trace errors.
Confidentiality.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Status: Full-time

Compensation: $58,240.00 per year

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
