The Membership Experience Specialist is responsible for promoting economic development with an emphasis on the Hispanic and small business community in Albuquerque and New Mexico. This position is responsible for selling Chamber memberships to businesses and organizations that need and/or want to support others through the networking efforts of our 49-year old Chamber of Commerce.

The successful candidate will effectively identify, cultivate, and solicit potential members by communicating the numerous benefits of having an affiliation with the Chamber. This position will provide direct, one-on-one navigation services to Hispano Chamber’s members, small businesses, and corporations in specific business areas. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic resource for our members, helping to identify opportunities and services for our members to use for the benefit of their business.

Required Qualifications
-High School Diploma or equivalent certification verifying high school-level academic skills.
-Superb networking, teamwork, negotiation and interpersonal/diplomatic skills with ability to work effectively with stakeholders to achieve a common goal.
-Ability to develop strategic and proactive relationships with members, organizations, associations, and other supporters of the philanthropic community.
-Ability to demonstrate proactivity and the ability to work independently. Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems and be resourceful under pressure.
-Ability to recognize opportunities to connect AHCC members with economic resources offered by both the Chamber and membership.
-Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and articulate concepts and ideas reasonably.
-Ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and time appropriately.
-Knowledge of business research, sales, marketing and customer service.
-Ability to use personal transportation (i.e. personal vehicle) to attend events and carry appropriate insurance requirements.
-Ability to travel and work early morning, evening, and weekend hours for event promotion.
-Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public policy, political science, law, hospitality, or any related field.
-2-3 years of direct sales experience.
-Fluency in the Spanish language (oral and written).
-Basic understanding of business financial statements.
