TownePlace Suites Airport is searching for a Chief Engineer to lead our hotel’s maintenance and engineering operations. In this critical role, you’ll ensure the safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence of the property, while guiding a skilled team and promoting a culture of safety, responsiveness, and hospitality.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for supervising the activities of the hotel maintenance department while planning for and assisting with the repair and maintenance of the hotel’s physical plant.

Major Duties:

Supervise, schedule, and train the maintenance team
Actively contribute to team recruitment, retention, and leadership development
Monitor maintenance staff productivity, ensuring labor cost objectives are met.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and building systems
Maintain accurate equipment and supply inventory, following hotel operations procedures, and coordinating with the General Manager for necessary orders.
Perform and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.)
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel\'s exterior areas, including the swimming pool, parking lot, and overall landscaping.
Oversee pool, landscaping curb appeal and exterior upkeep.
Manage maintenance inventory, tools, and vendor or contractor coordination.
Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and support capital project planning.
Maintain a positive representation of the hotel, consistently wearing a welcoming smile and promptly respond to guest requests for immediate repairs.
Respond to operational needs and support housekeeping, shuttle drivers or the laundry as needed
Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety protocols, and brand maintenance standards
Collaborate in the day-to-day operation of the hotel alongside the General Manager.
Maintain flexibility in working hours and assist other employees in various assignments when needed including after hours on-call availability to respond to emergencies in the maintenance department.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods, often for a minimum of 2 hours at a time.
Frequent walking and climbing/descending stairs, accounting for approximately 50% of the time.
Occasional climbing up and down ladders.
General dexterity for firm and precise grasping of objects, including fine dexterity skills for tasks involving small repair tools.
Periodic kneeling, reaching, crawling, and torso twisting to accomplish required tasks.
Capability to push and/or pull, including when using a cart for transporting linens, tools, or operating equipment like lawnmowers and wheelbarrows.
Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 140 lbs. pounds with assistance.
Qualifications:

2-4 years of experience as a Hotel Maintenance Engineer.
1-2 Years of supervisory experience (hotel or commercial setting)
strong technical knowledge: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general repair
Familiarity with OSHA standards and preventive maintenance systems
Unrestricted Driver\'s License
Certified Pool Operator\'s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Nice-to-Haves:

Technical certification or associate degree in a related field
Experience managing vendor relationships or capital improvement projects
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
