About Boone's Pharmacy
Boone's Pharmacy
The Alabama State Board of Pharmacy, established in 1887, is dedicated to ensuring that the pharmacy profession is represented by a diverse and knowledgeable group of individuals. The Board is responsible for enforcing Title 34, Chapter 23 of the Practice of Pharmacy Act 205 and Title 20, Chapter 2 of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act. It recognizes that the practice of pharmacy and the management and operation of pharmacies have a direct impact on the public health, safety, and welfare of the people of Alabama.
Comprised of five members who are licensed pharmacists with at least five years of experience in Alabama, the Board is supported by an administrative staff led by an executive secretary appointed by the Board. Three members are appointed by the Governor, with one member representing hospital pharmacy practice or administration, one representing independent pharmacy practice or administration, and one representing chain pharmacy practice or administration. Additionally, two members are elected through a ballot process to represent non-designated member slots.
It is important to note that no pharmacist may serve two full terms consecutively on the Board. This ensures that fresh perspectives and ideas are continually brought to discussions and decision-making processes.

The Alabama State Board of Pharmacy takes its responsibility seriously and strives to uphold high standards within the profession for the benefit of all residents in our state.
