Currently I work as a Realtor and have been for over 12 years and a property investor much longer. I enjoy serving people and have an active lifestyle. Hobbies are hiking, boating, skiing, golf and guitar
In the last year I purchased and remodeled the building at 131/133 Commercial St., Portola, that has a vibrant early history as a mining and train town; hauling silver, copper, gold and wood logs to Sacramento and San Francisco.
131 Commercial Ave, Portola, Ca is located in South Portola area, located next to the Feather River and near the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. At 1500 sq ft this Apartment has 3 beds and a sofa bed with all modern appliances. This Portola location on Commercial street in the early 1900’s, was filled with saloons, brothels and business that catered to miners and loggers.
Eureka Peak, Gold Mountain, Beckwourth Peak, and Lake Davis is all within 10 miles. Golf Courses nearby are Grizzly Ranch, Whitehawk, and Nakoma at Gold Mountain. The Apartment is very private and is the only residence in the building.
The Apartment was updated to modern code standards with updated appliances, etc but was refurbished to keep the old look and feel of those early days.
The Master Bedroom is 2 twin x/l and put together is a California King Sized Bed. Bedroom has own closet, dresser and wide screen TV with Cable. Comforters are available for both setups. The second Bedroom has a Queen size bed and dressers. The third sleeping quarters are in the living room, nearest the French doors to the balcony, which has a pullout Futon Full Bed. The fourth room is a Dining Game room. Each room in the Apt has a ceiling fan. The Apt has Central AC/Heat and propane furnace in the Dining/Game room and propane fireplace in Living Room..
If you arrive late, there is a combination box which you will get the code. Go through the hall inside the building and the door is on the right. Inside the Apt on the left is the laundry and storage room for bikes etc. The remainder of the lower building has offices and storage, which is currently unoccupied but is off limits. The Apt is upstairs. The Apartment has been completely remodeled without compromising the old-style design and has been newly furnished. High-Speed Fiber Optic Internet and Direct TV is available. The decor has numerous train paintings, which were painted by our very own local Train Artist/Expert Mr. Ken Roller.
Views of the Feather River and local mountains can be seen from the balcony. Western Pacific Railroad Museum is within easy walking distance. Please contact me to discuss renting the building or apartment or go to direct to the Vacation Rental by Owner (VRBO) or Air BnB.
