What is Pilates? Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement.
Benefits of Pilates? Your body will totally transform from the inside out; posture will improve, you will develop a strong core - flat abdominals and a strong back, buttocks will strengthen and become more visibly toned, while arms and legs will become leaner. After a refreshing mind-body workout your energy level will dramatically increase. Chronic back pain and other debilitating physical ailments will decrease significantly as your range of motion and mobility improves.
What is Barre? Barre is a total body workout that incorporates a ballet barre for several of the exercises. The technique was created by Lotte Berk in the late 1930’s. After injuring her back, Lotte got the idea of combining her ballet bar routines with her rehabilitative therapy to form an exercise system that is one of the fastest growing exercise trends in the country.
Benefit of Barre? Barre inspired workouts are a great way to develop lean muscle mass while improving your balance, flexibility, and range of motion by combining the muscle-shaping principles of isometrics and the body-elongating practice of dance conditioning.
"In 10 sessions, you will feel the difference. In 20, you will see the difference. And in 30, you'll be on your way to having a whole new body."
-Joseph Hubertus Pilates
