About Ellenville Wawarsing Youth Commission

The Youth Commission was established in 1999 to nurture and support the youth of our community, providing year-round accessible programs and activities, including a full-day summer camp. The EWYC serves all school-aged children living within the Village of Ellenville and the Town of Wawarsing, with programs that are of no, or minimal cost, to the participants.

The EWYC is funded by the Town of Wawarsing and through the minimal fees paid by those who attend Camp Shawangunk and swim lessons and by daily fees collected at the Kerhonkson and School pools.

The EWYC is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors that helps to guide programming, manage the budget, and provided feedback and input to the Program Director and the Town and Village Boards.
