2nd Annual St. Paddy's Party
Highland Machine and Heartland Community Chorus announce their 2nd Annual St. Paddy’s Party, Saturday, March 2nd, 5:30-9:00 pm at the Lindendale Park Ballroom, Park Hill Drive, Highland, IL. Tickets are $25 for an evening of delicious appetizers from the Urban Farmhouse, music by the Irish Aires, dancing, raffle, and Fund the Need fundraiser for the purchase of Music for the Musicians. Highland Community School Dist. 5 Holds Kindergarten Registration
Phone registration for the 2019-2020 school year will be from February 25 - March 1. Boys and girls who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2019, are eligible to attend kindergarten this fall.
Registration may be handled by calling the Highland Primary Office at 654-2107 ext. 3 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm during that week. Please make sure to preregister your child so they are able to attend Kindergarten Visitation Day on Friday, May 3, 2019.

Hospital Sisters Health System celebrates 40 years of Incorporation
Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is commemorating the 40th anniversary of its incorporation, which took place on December 26, 1978. A celebration was held at the System Services Center in Springfield, Ill. on January 22, 2019 to recognize the vision and leadership of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis and the historic milestone for the system.
Under the leadership of Sister Marianna Kosior, OSF, the Provincial Council of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis continued the journey of discernment to create an organization that would oversee the management and operations of the hospitals while keeping the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis at the helm. At the young age of 51, Sister Marianna’s vision was that a health system would preserve the ministry. She also saw this as the opportunity to embrace the role of the laity in the Church’s work of Catholic health care. After Party will be at the ballroom and outside pavilion of Lindendale Park. Everyone is invited to this event for FREE! The contestants will be arriving immediately following the Pageant in their Evening Gowns for pictures and autographs.
