Prevent Work-Life Stress from Taking Over

Lead by example, but make it clear that work-life flexibility shouldn’t come at the expense of good performance.

By Tracy Brower   4 minute Read

Leaders have a huge responsibility in contributing to work-life fulfillment, but they often forget what they can do to help employees achieve that. In a lot of work-life recommendations, we empower ourselves to balance brilliantly (despite problems with the idea of ‘balance’), find fulfillment, and seek satisfaction. This is all good. After all, it’s essential to be empowered and make things happen for ourselves. But, in addition to individual empowerment, leaders also have a crucial role to play in creating the conditions for work-life satisfaction in their place of work.

As a leader, you should make sure that you’re fulfilled in your personal and professional life. But you also have a lot of influence to create an environment that allows for work-life fulfillment and stop work stress from taking over. Here’s how.

Lunch & Learn for More Information on Give 30

Get your registration in  by 3:00 PM.

Give 30 was founded by the Madison County Regional Office of Education.  Give 30 continues to see an increase in success as it heads into its fourth year.  In the past school year, we went from 25 to 70 active mentors by partnering with local organizations.  We would like to continue this success by soliciting civic leaders to identify/encourage interested individuals to become a Give 30 mentor.  Give 30 mentors give thirty minutes once a week to visit their mentee during school hours.  The students in the program need a positive adult figure in their lives to encourage them. We have found when students have a mentor, they are more likely to attend school and do the right thing inside and outside of school.  Register here for the event.

Da-Com

Hacking the Hacker

One fake email, one click on a link is all it takes to give a hacker all the information he needs to steal your and your client’s identity. Once the hacker gets your info, he can easily hack into your computer and network.

Does this scare you? It should. As an individual, you wouldn’t want someone else to have all of your bank info and credit card numbers. Even worse, as a business owner, you are trusted with your clients’ information. And if you lost that info? Well, you’d lose that client. Maybe you’ll lose all your clients. And after that? You’d probably be out of business.

Don’t let this happen to your business! Your staff is probably not educated on how to handle cyber-attacks, phishing emails and more fraud scams that you are not even aware of.

That’s why we’re holding our FREE cybersecurity training event, Hacking The Hacker on August 20th, 2019 - 11:30am to 3:00 pm. Let us show you and your staff what to look out for, and how you can protect your business from hackers.

After the learning, join us for some fun, racing at the Kartplex.

We look forward to seeing you there!  Register here.
