HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Wound Healing Center Raises Awareness about the Impact of Heart Health
on Wound Healing
(HIGHLAND, IL) – An alarming 33% of Americans currently suffer from cardiovascular disease. During Heart Health Awareness Month, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Wound Healing Center, a member of the Healogics network, is working to spread awareness about how cardiovascular diseases can affect the wound healing process. Chronic wounds affect approximately 6.7 million people in the United States and, if left untreated, an unhealed wound on the foot or leg can lead to a diminished quality of life and possible amputation. As many as 82% of leg amputations are due to poor circulation of the affected limb.

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland to Host Grief Support Group
(HIGHLAND, IL) – HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Highland is hosting an eight-week support group for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, from March 3 through April 21, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the St. Francis Conference Room at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland. There is a $10 fee to cover the cost of materials.

Highland Hospital is Offering Colorectal Cancer Screening Kits for $10 During the Month of March
(Highland, IL) – In recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland is offering Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) Kits for $10.
During the month of March, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., community members can purchase a FIT Kit at the front desk in the main lobby of the hospital.

Fourth Annual Heart Glo Bingo Event to be Held on March 20
(HIGHLAND, IL) – In celebration of Heart Month and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week, the Center for Cardiac Rehab and Wellness at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland will host the fourth annual Heart Glo Bingo event on Friday, March 20 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Highland.
