Governor Announces Back to Business Grant Program

UPDATE:  THERE WILL BE A WORKSHOP AT THE HIGHLAND CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON SEPTEMBER 9TH
CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO SIGN UP FOR THE WORKSHOP CLICK HERE

From 12 p.m.-1 p.m., there will be a presentation from Jo Ann Dimaggio May of the IL SBDC AT SIUE and from1 p.m.- 4 p.m. there will be an opportunity to ask questions and get assistance with the completion of the grant. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend if you want more information on the grant or need assistance.

Today, Governor Pritzker announced a $250 million Back to Business (B2B) grant program to support small businesses across Illinois that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The B2B grant program is meant to build off last year's Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program and will offer small businesses access to funds that can help offset losses due to COVID-19, bring back workers and rebuild amid the tumultuous pandemic. These funds are in grant form, not loans, and recipients of the grants that will range from $5,000 to $150,000 will not have to pay back these funds.

It should be noted that the B2B grants program is limited to businesses with revenues of $20 million or less in 2019 and priority will be given to businesses that did not previously receive COVID-19 related state funding or federal assistance through programs such as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) or Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program.

Welcome to Highland......

Did you know that Highland has a “Welcome Club”?  It does and it is available to you and can help you get the word out about your business/service/club etc. to new residents to Highland.  Patti Parker runs the Welcome Club and here is how it works………

YOU are charged a monthly fee of $25 (this can be paid monthly or as you wish) and can be stopped at any time.  If you are a NON-profit, there is NO charge.
YOU supply promotional/informative material to Patti.  She has a LARGE variety of promotional (coupons) items/media from a very diverse group of businesses, churches, clubs etc.

SHE visits (every month) at least 25 new residents derived from the new utilities customer list from the city and presents them with all of the material that she has collected.
SHE will supply you with the names of the people that she has visited.  This is not intended for soliciting purposes, but a point of reference.

If you feel this is a good fit for your company/club/organization, contact Patti Parker at 618-779-1992 or email at campr5@hotmail.com.
