The holidays are quickly approaching and the Highland Chamber of Commerce office is gearing up for another successful retail season with our Gift Certificate Program.  For an annual fee of $40, your company can participate as a place for the certificates to be redeemed.  There are currently over 60 participating businesses at this time, with a very diverse list of categories!  From Accounting  (Scheffel Boyle) to Travel Agencies (Travel One), there is something for everyone on the list!  For a full list of participating businesses, click HERE!  Many of our businesses, schools, organizations, city offices etc., use the Gift Certificates for awards, prizes, gifts etc., keeping the money local and boosting the Highland economy!  For more information on the program, see our website or click the image below!

PRESS RELEASE: Local Chorus Celebrates TEN Years of Making Music

Local chorus celebrates ten years of making music
 
Heartland Community Chorus has something to celebrate–their tenth
anniversary! The group, based in Highland, first auditioned singers back in
August of 2013, and immediately after, prepared their first concert, a
Christmas show. Since then the group has grown from twenty-four
members to over forty strong. The singers range in age from
20-somethings to 80-somethings, and they hail from Highland, St. Rose,
Troy, Trenton, Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Marine, Breese, Pocahontas,
and Aviston. Their mission is to promote and preserve the tradition of
choral music for the cultural enrichment of the Metro East Region.
