About Kirksville Arts Association
Who We Are
The Kirksville Arts Association (KAA) is a not for profit registered 501(c)3 organization serving Adair County and the greater Northeast Missouri region. KAA is governed by a volunteer board of directors and depends on hundreds of local volunteers throughout the year in support of its programs and fiscal well-being.
KAA History
In December of 1995, two groups joined forces to become the Kirksville Arts Association. The Red Barn Community Art League was founded in 1973. Its focus was the Red Barn Festival.
Later, the Kirksville Regional Arts Council was founded. It focused on other arts activities, including arts education. The merger helped both organizations to support more programs and to reach more people.
Mission Statement
The Kirksville Arts Association endeavors to partner and serve in promoting a vigorous economic and cultural arena in which to foster the arts for Northeast Missouris rural communities.
