About Us

Ashley Johnson, owner, has been in the business equipment industry for some 30 years. He started out selling some of the first plain paper liquid based analog copiers in the 1970’s for an independently owned company. When the company opened a branch office in Tifton, Georgia, Ashley had the opportunity to buy it and in 1983 Ashley’s Office Products was founded. In those days the company sold all types of business equipment- everything from pens and paper to desks, chairs and business machines. Ashley's became the fastest growing and one of the largest office supply dealerships in the area.

As the business grew, it became clear that one segment of it was outpacing the growth of the others- copiers. We noticed a trend in the copier business. The larger established copier companies were not providing the level of service that customers were asking for. We were. So, we set our goal to separate ourselves from the competition, concentrate on service and become the best copier company possible.

We began to shift our core business focus to growing the machine side of our business. In the mid 90’s we added postage and mailing systems to our product offering. Later, we sold the office supply and furniture divisions in order to concentrate on being the very best in office machines. We wanted to give the customers exactly what they wanted- better service, better equipment, and better people.

When analog copier technology gave way to digital, many dealers failed to transition to the digital world and either sold out or went out of business. Ashley immediately recognized it as another opportunity. By partnering with industry leading manufacturers like Canon, Savin and Neopost and bringing on the right people, Ashley’s was able to flourish and grow even more in the new digital world.

A quarter of a century later, we are changing again. Customers are asking for new products, new services, new software and solutions to make their businesses more efficient and profitable. We intend to be the very best choice for these businesses. The Ashley’s family has grown to over 4,000 customers and 50 employees.
