SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 21, 2023) – Due to public demand, the historic rugby matchup between the USA Men’s National Rugby Team and France’s Top 14 Champion Stade Toulousain has been rescheduled from Sunday, Sept. 17 to Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. (Mountain Time). The Rugby Alliance, an international collaboration between professional rugby clubs Stade Toulousain and the Utah Warriors, made the announcement today in response to public demand for a Saturday evening showdown.  The match will still be held at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.

“The community response to this matchup is unprecedented. Bringing an event of this magnitude to the US is an endeavor fueled by our dedication to uplift the spirit of this extraordinary sport on American soil. We have heard the fans and we are responding,” said Kimball Kjar, CEO of the Utah Warriors and co-founder of The Rugby Alliance. “This is a chance of a lifetime for fans to experience the highest level of sport right here, live, to feel the energy, tension, and exhilaration that only a raw rugby match can deliver. We can’t wait to experience the packed stadium of rumbling fans cheering on these athletes at America First Field now rescheduled Saturday night on September 16.”  

Immediately following the match, a representative from the Guinness World Records will witness an attempt by thousands of rugby fans in attendance to break the world-record largest rugby scrum, besting the current record which lies just shy of 3,000 participants.
