The Maricopa Unified School District is located within the City of Maricopa, which is about 16 miles southwest of Phoenix, AZ. As if the beginning of 2006, our school district had 3 schools. They were Maricopa High School, Maricopa Middle School, and Maricopa Elementary. All three schools were located on the same parcel of land…..We have since grown as a city and more importantly, as a school district. Currently, we have nine schools. Six elementary, two middle, and one high school. The parcel of land which housed our original three schools is now our site to hold our ever expanding high school. With such rapid growth, we have experienced a few growing pains, but with great leadership, and a supportive school board, we continue on our goal to see all our schools as recognized to be top performing.
Looking back at the years, we went from overcrowded classrooms to see the completion of four new elementary school sites and 2 new middle school sites. The Maricopa Unified School District is the largest employer within the City of Maricopa. There are current and future opportunities for Highly Qualified Teachers and Licensed Therapists, Psychologists, Counselors, and Nurses to fulfill specialty opportunities.
