Going Green Commitments
- I have been practicing sustainable efforts since my business began. I use sustainable and recycled office supplies, recycle, and offer a lending library service consisting of: books related to birth and postpartum, babywearing gear, and cloth diapers.
Hours of OperationFor consults, prenatal/postnatal visits, and postpartum services: By appointment
For births: I am on-call 24/7 for two weeks before and two weeks following the mother's due date.
Crowning Achievement is here to support mothers and families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period as a birth and postpartum doula. Alongside these main services I also offer birth pool rental, make custom nursing pads for breastfeeding mothers, and offer a lending library for: books, cloth diapers, and baby carriers.
No matter how much I learn about birth it always leaves me in awe. Birth is a breathtaking natural process that prepares a mother and her partner for the new life to come following birth. For this reason having a birth team that is fully supportive of your choices is important. I would love to get to know you and your family better and help support you!
We'll Impress YouWhy choose a doula?
A doula is a professional who knowledgeable about the processes of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Doulas enhance the dynamic of you and your partner as you birth or return home. We assure your partner can be as helpful and effective in being helpful as you wish.
Doulas are not like nurses or family in the birth room. Nurses come and go and while they can be supportive they cannot provide the continuous care that is proven to help improve your birth/postpartum experience. And while it is great to have family close-by supporting your birth sometimes their presence can cause subconscious worry that can impact your labor. Having continuous support from a non-family member who is invested in your best interests but not close enough to be family can be a great benefit.
Having a doula at your birth is like having everything you learned at birth class plus years of experience right there for you during your birth, there to support you every step of the way, no matter what you choose. A doula offers non-biased, family-centered care.
And having a postpartum doula in your home is better than a nanny because doulas stay up-to-date on development, health, and family dynamics. A postpartum doula is ready to adapt to your family and help you in a non-biased way.
Am I right for you?
A birth/postpartum doula fills a very personal and intimate roll in a family's birth/postpartum experience, and not every doula is suitable for every family. The only way you can know for sure if we would work well together is to call, email, or schedule a consult and I will happily get to know you as you get to know me. You can also visit my website and check my reviews on Facebook. I strive for non-biased, family-centered care that helps the family as a unit during the amazing process that is becoming or expanding a family.
Mission StatementAs a doula I will strive for a continuing education on the processes of pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period by keeping updated on current evidence-based medical information as to provide my clients with a full range of information to help them make choices during the process. I will be a non-biased and fully supportive birth professional for your family.
Regardless of the location and type of birth I will provide continuous support through the wonderful journey of pregnancy, labor, and birth, and postpartum. I will do my absolute best to help maintain the sacred space of the mother while in labor by providing family-centered care while maintaining a good rapport with her care providers, provide her and her partner with comfort, and help give her the strength to get what she needs from of her birth.
