The iDREAM Project starts in Kindergarten and gets students to dream big! In 2
nd and 4
th grade students are encourage to expand on their dreams list from 2 ideas in Kindergarten to 10 in 2
nd grade to 25 in 4
th Grade. In-school activities make it fun to learn about the importance of dreaming and with community leaders doing the activities students are introduced to a community support network at a young age. All activities have a take home worksheet for parents and guardians to get involved with dreaming/goal setting.
Beginning in 6
th grade students are introduced to tools to help put their ideas into action. At the 6
th grade level students expand their list to 50 ideas and then are encouraged to journal about them all school year long. In 8
th grade students expand their list of ideas once again from 50 to 100. The 10
th grade activity focuses on the SMART Goal tool. Community leaders encourage the students to pick a few ideas from their list and write SMART Goals for the dreams. Finally during their senior year students are exposed to another tool for dreaming called the Vision Board. Seniors are encouraged to take some ideas from their list and create a “work of art”…their own vision board!
The iCREATE Project starts in 1
st Grade and gets students familiar with the big word entrepreneurship!
