Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Group UPDATES Did you sign up for a Special Interest Group?? Are you interested in being a Group Starter?
We need some Group Starters for the Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Specific Interest Groups. Group starters will get the specific group together the first time. Emails and phone numbers will be given to the Group Starter. All you have to do is plan the date, time and place for that first get together. Then as a group you will plan when you want to meet again.
Remember if you've met someone new, remind them to contact Kay at the Welcome Center to set up a visit if they haven't already had one. We want to do a personal visit with our area Newcomers as well as help them get involved in the community.

July 17-20th - Pope County Fair
July 25-28 - Waterama (No group activity planned.)
July 30 - Happy Hour on the Lake, 5:00 p.m. Water's Edge for anyone interested.
August 19th - Chamber Cup Golf Tournament for anyone interested in being on a Newcomers Team(s).
Pope County Farmer's Market Tuesday's & Saturday's all Summer! The Pope County Farmers's Market, is now open Saturday mornings from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
The market will be located in the parking lot by Pope County Museum (look for the totem pole).

The Pope County Farmers' Market, Glenwood will be open both Saturday and Sunday of Waterama, July 27 & 28th from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Same location! Save the Date! Eagle Bank Waterama Opening Ceremony Friday, July 19th Host: Waterama Location: Glenwood City Park Bandshell 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Join the Chamber and Glenwood Waterama for coffee, a light breakfast and activity in the park! This event will begin with flag raising by Admiral Jeff Panitzke to officially open 2019 Waterama. The reigning royalty will be in attendance as well as the brass and other board members. There will be a recap of some of the Waterama highlights from the year so far, and door prizes of tickets to the dances for Johnny Holm and the Arch Allies on Waterama weekend.

Glenwood Lutheran Church Summer Worship in the Park Join the Glenwood Fire Department for their weekly meat raffle on Saturday's at 4:00 p.m. at the Village Inn in Glenwood. Community Announcements Pope County Mobile Food Drop will be held Tuesday, August 13 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Glenwood United Parish, 10 17th Ave NW, Glenwood. Distribution of food begins at 12 p.m., registration begins at 11:00 a.m. The Mobile Food Drop is a monthly food distribution event. Anyone who eats and lives in Pope County is able to utilize this program. Please bring boxes to carry your food. This monthly event is made possible by the United Way of Pope and Douglas Counties. Upcoming food drop dates are Sept. 10, October 8 and November 12. GRV Auxiliary Pie Ice Cream Social Sunday, July 21 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Retirement Village Town Center. Supplemental funds provided by Thrivent.
