Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Group UPDATES Happy Hour on the Lake Tuesday, October 29th The Newcomers Happy Hour group will be meeting on October 29 at 5 p.m. at the Minnewaska House, 24895 State Highway 28, Glenwood.
Central Square Halloween Party for Newcomers!
An invitation to all Newcomers! It's a Halloween Party and you are invited. Saturday October 26th at 7:00p.m.
A special group discount offer to Minnesota's premier tribute to Neil Young by "Powderfinger" in concert at Central Square.
Get $5.00 off the advance ticket price of the concert and $2.00 off with your ticket stub for the entry fee to Fright Nights in the basement. Only $20 total.
Cash bar and concessions available. Costumes permitted and dancing in the aisles encouraged! Newcomers Interested in Bowling - we can add Newcomers Group teams to this Tournament!! Newcomers Interested in bowling consider joining us for The Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament scheduled for Sunday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. (note time change from 4:00 p.m.) We can have some Newcomer Teams - Let Kay know if you're interested and she will sign you up. Teams are $140 and Individuals $35.00 The fee covers three games and shoes. It's a fun afternoon and a good way to meet other community members.
Did you sign up for a Special Interest Group?? Are you interested in being a Group Starter?
We need some Group Starters for the Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Specific Interest Groups. Group starters will get the specific group together the first time. Emails and phone numbers will be given to the Group Starter. All you have to do is plan the date, time and place for that first get together. Then as a group you will plan when you want to meet again.

Pope County Farmer's Market Last Market of the Season Saturday The Pope County Farmers' Market ends for the season this Saturday morning, October 26th from 8:30-11:30 a.m. through
The market will be located in the parking lot by Pope County Museum (look for the totem pole).
Pickleball Update Pickleball will be available to play indoors on Sundays, beginning October 13, 2019 through May 3, 2020 in the Auxiliary gym at Minnewaska High School from 12:30-2:30 p.m. You may use the schools nets, paddles and balls.
For more information, watch for your Minnewaska Messenger in the mail, or call 320-239-1305 for directions to the gym and punch card payment. There will be no cash payment available. Magical Christmas Holiday Market Vendors will be allowed to sell/showcase their products and/or services during regular banking hours. There is only room for 12 vendors.
Set up is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. prior to the bank opening. Tear down will be scheduled at 5:00 p.m on Friday. To register go to our website and register for the Magical Christmas in Glenwood Holiday Market.
Magical Christmas in Glenwood Sponsorship Registration NOW Open It’s that time of year again! The Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center is seeking sponsors for this year’s Magical Christmas in Glenwood celebration.
The Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center & Chamber is proud to organize and co-sponsor the 10th Magical Christmas in Glenwood Celebration with the help and support from our local sponsors.
ALL activities are FREE and open to the public during this time of year, but without the support of local area businesses, organizations, families and individuals, we cannot offer all that we do.
In order to receive the tax-deduction receipt, checks must be made out to the Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center.

This event is co-sponsored by the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber & Welcome Center, Fright Nights LLC, and area businesses and organizations. This is a lights on, non-scary, walk through the haunted house.

Erickson's Petting Zoo Fall Family Fun!
Erickson’s Petting Zoo to Open for “Fall Family Fun” – Fall is a great time to stop on out to Erickson’s Petting Zoo of Osakis.
All of the animals and birds are always a hit, no matter what time of the year you visit . Enjoy a tractor & hay ride, horse and wagon rides, pick your own pumpkins, pony rides and pony Hops and the seven-acre corn maze. While in the maze look for the hidden corn tower.
This is the last weekend for the Fall Family fun at the zoo. Open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays are from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $8.50 per person 2-5 year olds, $6.50.
Pre-picked pumpkins, squash, gourds and corn shocks available for sale.

2020 Census
Pope County Informational
Open House on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Minnewaska Area High School.
The open house will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and food and drinks will be available.
Community members are invited and encouraged to attend and learn about the importance of the 2020 census.
The City of Glenwood is flushing hydrants through October. City residents may notice a temporary water discoloration during this process. If this occurs, simply run the water until it clears.
