MAGICAL CHRISTMAS IN GLENWOOD is celebrating it's 10th year. The kick-off is Thursday, December 5th with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Eagle Bank plaza at 5:15 p.m.. The Lighted Holiday Parade will follow at 5:30 p.m. on Minnesota Avenue, same route as last year. Staging and tear down will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church parking lot. The FREE Community Supper will be at the Glenwood Lutheran Church Social Hall from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
SIGN UP your business, organization or agency TODAY and be part of the Lighted Holiday Parade! All the information is listed under the Magical Christmas section of this newsletter. It's simple you can walk, pedal, or have a motorized vehicle in the parade - you just have to have it lighted. Be part of the fun and compete for the traveling Christmas trophy for the "Best Display of Holiday Spirit". Last year's winner was FAST Global Solutions. The judge(s) will be somewhere on the parade route!
Help make this the best Lighted Holiday Parade! Sign up today! Work has begun on the 2020 Minnewaska Visitor Guide. Any upcoming events for 2020 that you would like to have submitted for the "Calendar of Events" listed in the guide, email Kay at kay.blauert@WelcomeGlenwood.org or call the office at 320-634-3636. Final decision on dates published will be by the Pope County Tribune staff. Information should be submitted by December 20th.

We need some Group Starters for the Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Specific Interest Groups. Group starters will get the specific group together for the first time. Emails and phone numbers will be given to the Group Starter. All you have to do is plan the date, time and place for that first get together. Then as a group you will plan when you want to meet again.

Pickleball Pickleball will be available to play indoors on Sundays, beginning October 13, 2019 through May 3, 2020 in the Auxiliary gym at Minnewaska High School from 12:30-2:30 p.m. You may use the schools nets, paddles and balls.
For more information, watch for your Minnewaska Messenger in the mail, or call 320-239-1305 for directions to the gym, and punch card payment. There will be no cash payment available.
Magical Christmas in Glenwood Magical Christmas in Glenwood Celebration is three Thursdays in December - 5, 12 & 19.
Also included in the Christmas Celebration is the CP Lighted Holiday Train, and Glenwood Day at Andes Tower Hills. The train will be arriving at the Glenwood Depot on Friday, December 13th at 10:00 a.m. This is a fundraiser for the Pope County Food Shelf. Glenwood Day at Andes Tower Hills is scheduled for Saturday, December 14th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with great prices. For more information visit WelcomeGlenwood.org.
Kick Off for the Magical Christmas in Glenwood Celebration is Thursday, December 5th.
Take in the tree lighting ceremony at 5:15 p.m. at the Eagle Bank Plaza and, watch the parade at 5:30 p.m. After that, head over to Glenwood Lutheran Church for the Community Supper from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Enjoy a catered meal by Lakes Catering, take a horse and wagon ride, and kids can see Clueless the Christmas Elf (balloon Twister) and start coloring their Christmas picture for the annual Coloring Contest.
Everyone is invited to be part of the Magical Christmas in Glenwood celebration.
Holiday Market Vendors will be allowed to sell/showcase their products and/or services during regular banking hours. There is only room for 12 vendors.
Set up is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. prior to the bank opening. Tear down will be scheduled at 5:00 p.m on Friday. To register, go to our website and click on the link for the Magical Christmas in Glenwood Holiday Market.
NOTE: December 12th Welcome Center & Chamber Open House & Family Night will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Reindeer & Sleigh rides will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. STILL TIME TO SIGN UP AND PARTICIPATE IN THE PARADE!!

Pope County Historical Society Annual Christmas Open House will be held Saturday, December 7 from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Once again this year, there will be a silent auction. Baskets will be set up throughout the museum. Funds raised will support the mission of the Historical Society to foster among people and awareness of Pope County history so that they can draw strength and perspective from the past and find purpose for the future.
Bidding on items will begin Tuesday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m. and bidding will end on Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 p.m. For more information, call the Pope County Museum at 320-634-3293.

Choir Concert Tickets go on sale Dec. 2 at $6 per ticket. Tickets can be picked up at the thigh school choir room or reserved and collected at the door on the day of the concert. To reserve your tickets, call 320-239-1340, leave a message with the amount of tickets needed for the concert attending; tickets can then be paid at the door. There is no reserved seating. In case of snowstorm, the make-up day is Monday, December 16th.
