Local Artist Looking for Subjects for Giant Summer Mural Project America Grafton has created a giant summer project and would love to use your exterior business walls at no cost. Can you help? Here's a bit more from America about this huge undertaking rooted in community, our environment, and art:
Hello, BC Businesses!
I have created a giant summer project titled: Mojave Art Collective. It effectively combines art and environmental knowledge with community involvement and conservation education. Being a member of the community for several years and delving into my interests, I wanted to create a project that was community-based, environmentally-focused, and artistically-framed.
The central part of MAC will be the beautiful murals showcasing Nevada's at-risk, threatened, and endangered species, to promote reflection, education, and expanded conservation efforts. These murals will be completed between July - August 2021 by local community artists, such as myself.
I would love to paint these murals on your exterior business walls (at no cost to you) and feature your business (with a short optional bio and picture) on my project website: mojaveartcollective.com. Overall, this will support and encourage future business, tourism, and conservation.
Please contact me for your interest in my project, with any questions or comments, at my cell: 561-389-2046, oremail: agrafton@hamilton.edu / mojaveartcollective21@gmail.com.
I look forward to working with you! Thank you.
Sincerely, America Grafton ![]() Energy Secretary Visits Boulder City to Promote Solar Energy Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm met with U.S. Rep. Susie Lee and workers at the Townsite solar facility in Boulder City on Friday as she concluded a series of events in Southern Nevada promoting President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan. Granholm applauded Nevada lawmakers’ clean energy efforts, touting the state as the future of green power in America.
“Solar energy provides jobs,” Granholm said as she stood near the sprawling solar field off U.S. Highway 95. “And this is an example of it. Nevada is going to be the poster child for solar energy production.” On Friday morning, Granholm helped more than a dozen union electricians install a solar module at the facility, one of thousands at the site. The project is part of Gigawatt 1, one of the largest solar projects in the world; it’s aimed at providing enough energy to power 1 million homes.
The project is a bellwether for the state, Lee said. Read full article here.
