We had the wonderful opportunity to present the donations to our two organizations that we chose for our silent auction proceeds to go to. The Sharing Place and the Pleasant Grove Jr. High Wellness Room are going to make tremendous differences in our communities! |
The Sharing Place has been operating since 1993 and our mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for grieving children, teens, and their families to share their feelings while healing themselves. We provide grief support groups for children (and adults) that emphasize the importance of acknowledging any and all feelings related to grief, connection with others experiencing grief, and channeling feelings through art, play, and discussion. We are so excited to be in Pleasant Grove and serve families in Utah county.

Pleasant Grove Junior High currently has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 7th to 9th grade. The challenges our 12-15 year old students face range from depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, emotional regulation, problem solving, stress management, and resilience. As students navigate these years, our purpose is to help them with these challenges, teach them problem solving skills to manage their life, and provide a place for them to practice these skills and manage their emotions. A Wellness Room in our Counseling Office will be the perfect resource for students who need additional support.
Thank you to EXL Fitness & Performance, Karl Malone Toyota, the Pleasant Grove/Lindon Chamber of Commerce, and private contributions through the Alpine Foundation for their generous donations to help us achieve our goal in building the room. We are within reach of our goal and would greatly appreciate any additional contributions. Please contact Jennifer Packer-jpacker@alpinedistrict.org or (801)610-8147 if you are interested.

We have an amazing luncheon planned this upcoming month! Patrick Milligan is a professor for the UVU MBA Program and teaches principles that follow our motto of Relationships Matter throughout his courses. We are so excited to hear from him while enjoying some delicious food from Wok the Line. |
