This year's Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Look for a larger Kid Zone area, remote control cars (thank you Bobby Gott!), and (weather permitting), a classic car display.

The Plumas-Sierra County Fair has been selected as one of the five finalists for the highest honor awarded in the Western Fair Association Achievement Award Program, the Merrill Award!
This award, named in honor of Western Fairs Association founder Louis Merrill, is given to member fairs that clearly demonstrate innovation, vision and excellence. The Merrill Award finalists are: California Mid-State Fair – Mission Market Central Washington State Fair – Perfect Plate
Monterey County Fair – Healthcare Heroes Plumas- Sierra County Fair – Indian Valley Innovation Hub Wyoming State Fair – Everyday Ag The Plumas County fair reached out to Indian Valley with creative thinking to propel the rebuilding of the economy with a world sized view. With the devastation of the valley by the Dixie Fire, Fair Manager John Steffanic said, "It’s a start-from-scratch situation."
With funds earned from the Dixie Fire camp at the fairgrounds, the Innovation Hub was born and proposed to showcase what Indian valley has to offer - crafted, grown or raised, with unique ties to the valley. The hub gathers people of all talents and trades to bring together resources and encourage innovation. |

At Oakland Feather River Camp, we believe it has never been more important for children and families to have access to meaningful outdoor experiences away from urban life. Our campers spend an average of 95 hours immersed in one of the most beautiful natural settings in California — swimming, exploring, building new skills and traditions, and strengthening relationships with family and friends.
From improving mental and physical health to fostering confidence and resilience, these experiences positively impact our campers’ lives forever. Please support our year-end campaign to make these life-changing experiences possible for more kids and families! https://www.classy.org/.../give-nature-change-a-life/c548255

2023 marked the 10-year anniversary of Plumas Corp's first Yellow Creek project in Tásmam Koyóm in the Upper Feather River Watershed. In truth, the project started in 2006, encompassing initial data collection, fishery studies, feasibility analysis, restoration alternatives, and mapping.
In 2008, the decision was made to pursue restoration efforts that would reconnect the channel to its historic floodplain. We successfully secured funding through our project partners, PG&E and the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation. However, the project was delayed due to the Chips Fire in 2012 and a major high-water event that December. Nevertheless, in September of 2013, we reconnected the mainstem of the Yellow Creek gully with the meadow floodplain, utilizing the pond and plug restoration technique, valley grade structures, and enlisting the help of Chester High School students and the California Conservation Corps to plant over 6000 willows.
Despite enduring several significant floods and the 2021 Dixie Fire, this project meadow has maintained its resilience. Its ecological integrity is so remarkable that this year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, in cooperation with the Maidu Summit Consortium, selected this project area as the ideal location for the successful reintroduction of beavers into the wild for the first time in nearly 75 years. |

This last week, after three and a half years, and more than a few setbacks (brewing is backbreaking work…) we FINALLY completed our first day of test brewing on our beautiful new equipment @premierstainless in our beautiful new building! Whoot!!
It was warm, comfortable, efficient… not words that come to mind when we were previously winter brewing outside on a trailer. This milestone wouldn’t have been possible as soon as it was without a few key and generous helpers - another post on that soon - rallying to help button up some of the final technical details that come with commissioning a new brewery system. We are still a few months off the public being able to visit our new location as we deal with finishing touches, but until then, the all important brewing operations are full steam ahead (pun intended) after a tricky few months hiatus. Excited for a big year of pumping out our favorite regular brews, and some exciting new ones too!
