Professional Book of the Month Rewire: Break the Cycle, Alter Your Thoughts and Create Lasting Change by Nicole Vignola
Rewire is a toolkit to help improve your life by changing habits and behaviors. A couple of my favorite concepts from the text: When we use social media, we are giving away our "mental currency;" doom scrolling on social media is actually not relaxing, it is actually mentally taxing. Remember to practice gratitude as it will give you joy too. Also included are reminders and tips about the importance of regular exercise, good sleep habits, meditation, and other self-care.
This book is available at the Norwalk Easter Public Library.
Leisure Book of the Month
When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill
During the 1950s, there was a mass dragoning - thousands of women spontaneously transformed into dragons and left their homes and families. Some left a wake of destruction behind them, while others escaped quietly to secret, new lives. Young Alex is trying to figure out what happened to her beloved Aunt Marla and the truth behind the dragoning that no one wants to talk about. This book is available at the Norwalk Easter Public Library. It is also available in ebook and e-audiobook formats using the free Libby app and your library card. |
