PG&E Winter Storm Report and Understanding
Winter storm is on track to hit our territory beginning overnight. PG&E’s Meteorology is reporting possible gusts up to 45 mph along the coast, elevated terrain, and Sierra Nevada. It is possible for the weather conditions to cause power outages. PG&E is preparing to respond to outages as they occur. Our team is committed to getting impacted customers re-energized when safe, and as soon as possible. Delays in restoration could be due to extreme weather, flooding, access, or the extent of damaged infrastructure that needs to be repaired.
PG&E’s Meteorology Update A cold winter storm system featuring gusty winds, rain, and heavy mountain snow will progress southward through the territory tomorrow, with showers continuing through Friday.
Periods of heavy rain and mountain snow are expected through Thursday with snow levels lowering to approximately 2000-3000’ Thursday morning.
Low to middle elevation snow-related outages are likely in the Sierra foothills, North Valley, and Humboldt.
Another cold front will sweep through the territory on Sunday and/or Monday resulting in Cat 2-Cat 3 conditions across northern and central areas primarily due to wind/rain risk.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible next Monday into Tuesday as the weather pattern remains active. |

Plumas County Tourism Honoring Women's Month |
|
|
Plumas County has a rich history, from gold mining to ranching to the internationally recognized
stairway of power. In honor of Women’s History Month, we are again profiling some notable women who impacted Plumas County. From the indigenous women leaders who fought to preserve their culture to the pioneering women who
pushed boundaries in science, education, and civic development, Plumas County has been shaped by bold, unstoppable women. These women in history not only influenced this region but also contributed to the broader narrative of women in history, and their legacies are still very much alive.
For Women’s Month and International Women’s Day (March 8th), Plumas County Tourism continues to recognize and acknowledge the women who were noteworthy in Plumas County and beyond.

The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship: Introducing 5 Bucks a Foot: The Lakes Basin Edition
Donate to support SBTS’ work in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area and win a stay at the Cabins at Gold Lake! |
|
|
This week, Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship launched a new 5 Bucks a Foot fundraising campaign to support ongoing maintenance work in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, where SBTS has been working for two decades. With funding and staffing cuts at the federal level, we need support more than ever to keep trails throughout the Lost Sierra maintained and open for all to enjoy—here’s a way to support our work in the Basin and win a super sweet prize package while you’re at it!
This campaign works like other 5 Bucks a Foot fundraisers—donate $5 (the estimated cost of building one foot of trail) and get a chance to win an amazing prize package. This one is highlighted by a two-night stay this September at the coveted boat-in Cabins at Gold Lake, a cozy cabin on the literal shores of pristine Gold Lake and surrounded by trails, and includes a guided hiking or biking adventure led by our new venture Yuba Expeditions Adventure Guides, a $200 gift package from Lost Sierra Wine Company and gear from Outdoor Products and Outdoor Vitals. Each donation made between now and March 25 gets you a new chance to win, and this campaign is open to our supporters globally.
