Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs !

The Boulder City Library has a new StoryWalk® set up downtown! You can stop by the library for a map, or check out this link HERE for the map. We’ve also published it below.

It begins at Desert Sun Realty and continues through thirteen downtown businesses, ending at Cards O’ Glee. Kids of all ages will be able to see the story presented on laminated pages displayed as they walk and stop at several locations along the way. When the kids complete the walk, they fill out a form and get a free button or sticker.

The story is Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs written and illustrated by Mo Willems. Mo Willems is a popular children’s author and illustrator and has been featured as the Inaugural Kennedy Center Education Artist-in-Residence. You can learn more about him and check out some cool activities HERE.

You can find out more information about the book HERE.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. StoryWalk® programs can be found around the world in Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea!

Regular operating hours for the library are as follows: Monday thru Thursday from 10:00AM to 8:00PM, and Friday thru Sunday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. The library is located at 701 Adams Boulevard in ABC Park, and is online 24 hours a day HERE. You can reach the circulation desk with questions, to sign up for classes, and to receive other general information by calling (702) 293-1281.

Pre-registration required

Join us for a fun week at Drama Camp where we will learn all about acting and theater!  Our drama ministry is designed, not as a religious program, but a program to teach children and teens about kindness and teamwork.  We will work on building confidence and self-esteem, providing an opportunity for all children to shine!  During the camp, we will introduce a larger play production as an option to participate in, following Drama Camp.  This play will be performed in the fall.  There will be no auditions, as everyone can have a part.

This year we will be performing "The Sound of Music".

AAUW presents a delightful visit to about 5 homes in the Boulder City area, annually.  This is our 47th annual Home Tour! Won't you join us?  The AAUW Boulder City Branch is also celebrating our 85th Anniversary, having been founded in 1939!  Tickets are available at the Historic Boulder Dam Hotel after October 14, 2024, for $20.  The Home tour begins at 1:00 and ends at 4:00.  Participants travel around Boulder City, enjoying the historic and more modern homes our community has to offer.  Homes are hosted by AAUW Members and Supporters, and some times the owners, too.  Proceeds benefit the Scholarships the group has given to local students continuing a college course of study toward a career goal.  Questions can be sent to Linda Gardner, by text or email,  541-480-1999 or trixytazzy@live.com, or to Valerie McNay, 702-845-0907 or vjm5020@gmail.com.
