Ronald Radford is a world-renowned master of Flamenco guitar. A protégé of the legendary Carlos Montoya, Radford lived and traveled in Spain where he immersed himself in the musical wisdom of the Gypsy Flamenco guitar masters. He has performed in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and in fifteen countries on four continents to standing ovations and rave reviews. Radford complements his masterful technique with an illuminating narration which recreates the very essence of this ancient folklore, Flamenco - the heartbeat of Spain.

The outdoor evening concert will begin with a short ranger discussion on Ulysses S. Grant’s relationship with Spain as president and his World Tour.

The concert is free, and no reservations are required. Bring a chair or blanket. You are welcome to bring food and beverages as well. For more information call 314-842-1867 ext. 230.

Twenty historic sites are joining together for this event. See how our ancestors connected with the land, in both ornamental and practical ways.
At White Haven, Suzanne Corbett with discuss kitchen gardens. Beyond a farm's row crops, kitchen gardens were intended to directly supplement the tables of those who grew them, which includes those planted behind a farm's main house to city garden patches, to the cabins of the enslaved. Based on crop information mentioned by Grant, we will look at crops that were grown to enhance the everyday diet.

We will also have a talk about wildflowers, rain garden demonstrations, and a make-your-own flowerpot activity featuring Missouri native plants!

This event is free and no reservations are needed!

Music was often what enslaved people turned to when looking for hope, inspiration, or a way to capture passionate feelings. Negro Spirituals are songs created by these Africans who were stolen from their homeland and brought to the United States to be sold into slavery. The Legend Singers was founded to perform and preserve this music and heritage. The program is free and will take place outside. Reservations are not required.
