After the murder of a Free man of color in 1836 he could no longer hide his rage and spoke of it in his newspaper. Her new book, Enslavement and the Underground Railroad in Missouri and Illinois details the horrors experienced by people enslaved in Missouri, as well as their stories of courage and perseverance, and is available in the park bookstore.
