As we continue our journey embracing another new year, our Pueblos recognize the celebration of the Three Kings along with the designation of our newly elected honorable officials. This is a celebration held on many Pueblos in recognition of the gifts given to baby Jesus in Bethlehem. Our Pueblos take this time to show gratitude for the bountiful gifts received from our Creator. We also commemorate our rights to existence and pray for many blessings to be upon our people—especially our community leaders and officials. IPCC Cultural Educator Jon Ghahate (Laguna, Zuni) will be giving presentations during his 10AM and 2PM museum tours; in addition, he will do a presentation via Zoom at 4PM.

Celebrate the seasonal cycles through prayer, song, and dance with our Cultural Dance Program. Dances connect us to our ancestors, community, and traditions while honoring gifts from our Creator. They ensure that life continues and connections to the past and future are reinforced. The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is the only place in North America to offer cultural Native American dances every week, year-round.

The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Stretch Zone Riverside will be on Saturday, January 14, 2023. There will be food trucks, low-rider cars displayed, and vendors from the area present. That Saturday is the only time to gather the parties involved for the event (Friday the 13th of January would be a bad omen for many). We need our Hispano Chamber of Commerce present for this event. Thank you for your consideration.

Through their work, micaceous potter Angie Yazzie, painter Brian Taaffe, and photographer Deborah Lujan represent the resilience and beauty of the Pueblo that exists today. The commonality is clay, mud, the ground, and the strength this holds for them as Red Willow People. Admission is free through the South Entrance; light refreshments will be served.

Albuquerque's Actors Studio 66 (AS66), will start the 2023 calendar year with its production of Copenhagen, written by Michael Frayn and directed by Matt Heath.

Copenhagen is a Tony Award winning play, first performed in 1998. In it, Werner Heisenberg, Neils Bohr and his wife Margarethe reunite after death to relive and better understand the fateful and final meeting between the two physicists that occurred in Copenhagen during World War II.

Please join the Rio Grande Chapter as we welcome Lehigh University’s Professor and SCRM Founding Partner Greg Schlagle for an information-packed half-day seminar on managing supply chain risk. Greg will focus on improving supply chain risk resilience and techniques that will promote a more robust supply chain.
  • Understanding the various SCM risks
  • What best practices can be used to manage and mitigate those risks
  • Implementing those practices in both your organization and with your Supply Chain
This is one of the hottest topics in 2023!

Why should you care? "Securing the global supply chain, while ensuring its smooth functioning, is essential to our national security and economic prosperity. This vital system provides the goods that feed our domestic critical infrastructures and support our way of life. Other nations worldwide also rely upon the goods transported by the global supply chain system – in that sense it is a truly global asset that all stakeholders must collaboratively work to strengthen." (Source: National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security https://www.dhs.gov/national-strategy-global-supply-chain-security)

Contracts are full of clauses meant to ensure materials and supplies are sourced responsibly and result in dependable end items for the war fighter.  Do you know what you are signing up for?  All contracts and procurement professionals should have a good handle on the importance of supply chain risk management in our field.  Not for you?  Pass it on to your Buyers and Procurement counterparts!  This is a great opportunity to learn from a world class leader in SCRM!
