1/25/2025 | January’s IPCC Family Story Times will feature a series of books about an Inuit puppy named Kamik and the boy who owns him named Jake. Inspired by the real-life recollections of elders from Arviat, Nunavut, these books lovingly recreate the traditional dog-rearing practices that prevailed when Inuit people relied on dogs for transportation and survival. January 25th we will be reading Kamik Joins the Pack by Darryl Baker (Inuit), illustrated by Qin Leng, and Kamik Takes the Lead! by Darryl Baker(Inuit), illustrated by Ali Hinch. Following the story, families are invited to stay and create winter crafts. more info... |
