10/1/2024 | Butler Community College’s Life Enrichment will host a special field trip on Tuesday, October 1 to the Redler Institute of Culinary Arts in Andover. The field trip will include a facility tour, a cooking demonstration, and a presentation about the Butler Culinary program. The program will begin at 9:15 a.m. Life Enrichment is providing bus transportation to the facility for those who need it. The bus will load at 8:30 a.m. on the El Dorado campus and drive to Redler for a 9:15 a.m. arrival time. Bus riders must be able to board the bus without assistance. Members are encouraged to drive themselves if they are comfortable doing so. Parking is available. Reservations are required for this special Life Enrichment event. Reservations will ensure adequate space at the facility and on the bus. To reserve spots, contact Trisha Walls at twalls@butlercc.edu or 316-323-6355 to let her know how many people plan to attend and if they plan to ride the bus or drive. Life Enrichment meets on the first Tuesday morning of the month during the school year. Area adults enjoy high-quality speakers and performers, along with a light breakfast and coffee during each regular meeting. Meetings are in the Clifford/Stone Community Room at the Hubbard Welcome Center on the El Dorado campus. Meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend. Regular attendees are encouraged to register to receive monthly newsletters announcing the programs. New members are always welcome. Learn how her experiences led to the creation of our center, dedicated to supporting those with dyslexia. With dyslexia now formally recognized under Kansas law as a disability, Jeanine will provide key recommendations for helping children with dyslexia succeed and gain accommodations in their school system. This engaging session aims to dispel common myths and deliver accurate, research-based information on dyslexia. This introductory course will provide hands-on training and theoretical knowledge to aspiring brewers and beer enthusiasts.
