Art Guild's Featured Artist Exhibit
Boulder City Art Guild Gallery presents ~
a February Featured Exhibit THE MAGIC OF RESIN BY Artist Birgit Tode
Her exhibit will be on display Feb 1 to the 28th .
Birgit Tode lived in several different countries before, settling in Las Vegas about four years ago, and
began working in Resin about a year later. She loves this fluid medium. "It invites experimenting outside the box" with different techniques, combining materials and styles, beyond the usual classic approaches to resin on canvas. She had not had any formal training in the use of resins during her previous art studies. She says, “ I just let my feelings guide me…and maybe a good sense of color.”
Birgit joined the Boulder City Art Guild in 2017 and her works were purchased immediately by gallery visitors, and soon she began selling her resin art at local Art Festivals.
She participates in a monthly International Resin Art Challenge, and has
placed First on a few occasions. Birgit has also started giving classes in resin art
for beginners and more advanced levels.

BC ART GUILD GALLERY MARCH FEATURED ARTIST EXHIBIT:
LIFE ON THE FUNNY FARM by artist JULIE TOWNSEND March 1~31
Artist Reception Sat March 21, 1-3pm
March Featured Artist, Julie Townsend, wants her art to emotionally transport the viewer to a more innocent and happy time and place. "My artist motto: Telling Paintbrush Stories to make you Smile"
“I adore painting in acrylics, but drawing has always been my first love. There is just something about the contrast between the black of the ink and white of the paper…”. Julie often combines the pen and ink with a touch of color pencil. Her work has evolved over the years, using brush and paint and putting more color and humor into her works.Born in Kansas City and growing up in the rural Ozark hills of Central Missouri, Julie was surrounded by farming, woods, country roads and plenty of wildlife that would later inspire her subject matter.
It wasn’t until 2010 that she decided to take a drawing class at the community college, followed by an online painting course. With a great deal of hard work, and determination to get exposure, Julie’s work has begun to be noticed around the country and even internationally.
The Public is invited to the gallery's Artist Reception Sat March 21, 1-3pm at the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the historic Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St, Boulder City.
