The last film in SHADOWLAND'S STUDIO CINEMA series, presented on May Day (Sunday, May 1st at 2:00pm) will be SALT OF THE EARTH – a 1954 independent drama produced and directed by Herbert Biberman (one of the ten Hollywood professionals sent to prison on charges of contempt of Congress before the House Sub-Committee on UnAmerican Activities). The film, starring Will Geer, deals with the struggle of immigrant miners and their quest for equity and parity with Anglo workers. Added to the National Film Registry in 1992, SALT OF THE EARTH was condemned at the time of its release by the United States House of Representatives for its communist sympathies.

Nicky's Gardens of Hope's First Charity Golf Competition, In Highland NY on May 5th

On Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Nicky’s Gardens is holding a charity Golf Tournament at Apple Greens in Highland, New York (just two miles from Thruway Exit 18 to New Paltz). The tournament will raise funding to develop an inclusive community for Autistic and Intellectually disabled adults. 

Nicky’s Gardens of Hope is a new not-for-profit dedicated to building sustainable, net-zero, inclusive communities for autistic & intellectually disabled (ID) adults in NY State’s historic Hudson Valley. On Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Nicky’s Gardens is holding a charity Golf Tournament at Apple Greens in Highland, New York (just two miles from Thruway Exit 18 to New Paltz). The tournament will raise preliminary funding to develop its first site.
Nicky's Garden of Hope is a new non-profit, working to build sustainable, net-zero, inclusive community housing for autistic adults, veterans, and their families.  On May 5th, we are holding Nicky’s First Golf Championship in Highland New York, to raise funds.
