The primary purposes of the corporation are to promote the maintenance, development, establishment and expansion of agriculture, commerce, industry and housing in the Greenfield, Adair County, Iowa area, in order to relieve conditions of poverty, dependency, high unemployment and under-employment in an economically depressed community.

About the Board of Supervisors:

The Adair County Supervisors serve as the policymakers for the county and administer the various county programs. Their powers include reviewing budget requests, appropriating funds, establishing county tax levies, enacting ordinances, filling employee vacancies, and hearing reports from county officers. The Board is also responsible for overseeing economic development in the county. The Boards of Supervisors’ responsibilities are defined by Iowa Code chapter 331. In 2001 the Adair County Board of Supervisors went to a 5 member board.

Pippa White of One’s Company will present “Far As the Eye Can See” just steps away from the 9-acre restored Iowa prairie at the Wallace Farm. This one-act performance focuses on “the prairie and its people: the early pioneers who crossed it, the later pioneers who settled it, the brave people of the Dust Bowl, and the Native American people who struggled to keep the prairie that once belonged only to them.”

Choose from 2 ticket options: 1) the performance + picnic meal or 2) performance only.

Anyone with either ticket can purchase drinks. Doors open at 4:30 pm. Bring your own lawn chair as seating is limited.

Whether you are a food service manager or an employee, using current best practices in safe food handling is essential to keep your food establishment in compliance and protect the health of both customers and staff. You'll have the opportunity to take an exam to be certified as a Food Protection Manager.

Format: One 6-hour course plus certification exam

Certification: Upon successfully passing the exam, certified by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation as a Food Protection Manager (CFPM).

REGISTRATION DEADLINE for the SERVSAFE CERTIFIED FOOD PROTECTION MANAGER COURSE is 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE CLASS BEGINS. This deadline allows registered participants to receive their ServSafe book and class materials in the mail prior to the start of class. Deadline is August 29th. No exceptions.

There will be a 4-person scramble at 1 p.m. Tee-Off for those wanting to golf in the tournament, with the Chili Tasting Competition to be held afterward.
$80 entry per team. $5 chili tasting.

Participants in the Chili Tasting Competition are not required to participate in the Golf Tournament.

The Adair County Conservation Board and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources are offering a free Hunter Education Course. All registrants for this event must be 11 years of age by September 28, 2023, and must attend both sessions. You can register by visiting iowadnr.gov website. Under the Hunting Tab, choose Hunter Education, followed by Hunter Education - Register Now. From there you will click on the tab View Upcoming Events. Finally, scroll down until you find our course scheduled for September 28 and 30.

Don't miss Nodaway Valley's Homecoming Parade! Meet them on the square, W 2nd St., or at Nodaway Valley High School where the parade will be starting!

Directly after the parade is the Community Pep Rally, held in the Football Stadium at 7:30.

About the Event
The Adair County Conservation Board and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources are offering a free Hunter Education Course. All registrants for this event must be 11 years of age by September 28, 2023, and must attend both sessions. You can register by visiting iowadnr.gov website. Under the Hunting Tab, choose Hunter Education, followed by Hunter Education - Register Now. From there you will click on the tab View Upcoming Events. Finally, scroll down until you find our course scheduled for September 28 and 30.
