As part of The Government In Focus Series, The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce and Governmental Affairs Committee organize a yearly State of the County Address.

Join us at the Adair County Annex Building on June 4th at 9am for the 2024 State of the County Address. Your local County Commissioners and other leaders of the community will review the past year’s accomplishments/successes, future plans and any potential challenges our county may face in the near future. 

At the conclusion of the reports, we will open for questions from attendees.

This committee promotes economic development through job fairs, business education, and committee-generated projects such as The Lookin’ Good Award, which recognizes non-residential locations for their contribution to an attractive community. This committee supports the economic & community development projects of other local entities. The Economic Development Committee meets the first Thursday of every month at 8:30 am at the Chamber of Commerce.

This committee serves as the goodwill arm of the Chamber and welcomes new and expanding businesses and services. They volunteer at Business after Hours and Chamber events and help members celebrate groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings. They promote the image and activities of the Chamber in a positive way by connecting personally with members. Chamber Ambassadors meet the second Tuesday of every month at 10:30 am at the Chamber of Commerce.

The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Ribbon Cutting for The Kirksville Arts Association, June 13th @ 4:30pm, dedicating two bronze sculptures by Brandon Crandall to the Sue Ross Arts Center in celebration of their 50th Anniversary!!!

Following this event, attendees are invited to The Walkers Exhibit's Reception from 5-7pm. Information about the artists will be presented by Blytha Ellis, with music and refreshments available for your enjoyment!

Hosted by The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, Hope for Heroes benefits veteran’s programs,including the VIP Veteran Pack Program. VIP Packs provide additional nutrition to food-insecure veterans, including ready-to-eat entrees, soup and fruit and vegetables in easy-to-open cans. They also provide toiletries such as razors, body wash and deodorant. The Food Bank distributes VIP Packs in 13 counties, with ongoing efforts to further expand the program.

This committee plans events and projects to engage local business owners, increase business visibility and encourage & reward shoppers for “shopping local.” The Art Walk and New Student Welcome are two of their annual events.  The Merchants Committee meets every third Tuesday of the month at 8:00 am at the Chamber of Commerce.

Join us for a family fishing at Thousand Hills Point! Fishing poles, tackle, bait, and instruction will be provided. This is a great opportunity for anyone you know who is interested in fishing but does not have the gear to do so. Anyone is welcome. Stop by to grab a fishing pole and start fishing!
 
Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES.
 
Participants who are 15 years of age or older, will be required to have a valid fishing permit during this event.
 
This event is weather permitting
