| 12/5/2023 | The City of Leander, KVUE, and We Are Blood partner to host a regional blood drive! The holidays can be a challenging time of year for blood donations, due to business and school closures, travel and family commitments. This KVUE Cares event is working to fill the critical need for donations ahead of the holiday season. “It’s incredibly important for us to collect blood donations for patients needing blood transfusions in our community,” said Nick Canedo, We Are Blood’s vice president of community engagement. “Serving 10 counties, mobile blood drives are an important way for us to reach people across Central Texas and invite them to donate blood and benefit their own loved ones and neighbors in need.” GET IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING!We’re calling at least 200 donors to come out and help meet that daily demand for local patients. This annual event raises funds to help feed and care for our incredible therapy horses. Open My World presents a magical evening where the spirit of the holidays is brought to life through a twinkling trail of lights, guiding guests along a path of festive wonder and carnival games! This enchanting event brings the community together for a unique holiday experience while raising money to feed and care for our incredible horses.
As guests arrive, they are welcomed by the soft glow of countless lights that adorn our Sensory Trail. Each step reveals a new vignette of holiday cheer, carnival booths packed with games and prizes, hot cocoa and smores bar. Nearby, Make it Pop Productions is back with their photobooth, stocked with holiday props, offering a fun, festive way for guests to immortalize their night with instant keepsakes. Looking for a unique holiday gift? Venture over to the barn where we have our Silent Auction and Raffle items on display, all donated by the community to benefit the real stars of the event, our horses. Adorned with festive decorations, they will be on hand to remind guests of the true beneficiaries of the evening.
