Pottery Workshop

Learn basics of handling, molding, shaping and throwing clay. Explore an array of ceramic building and glazing techniques while developing your own personal style using clay as an expressive medium. From the raw clay to a finished beautiful piece suitable for food use or decoration. Craft bowls, cups, or a wind chimes, or even that museum forgery! This course is reserved for beginning level participants, but this is not the old “ashtray” class; students will do free-hand, molding, wheel-throwing, and slab building. Participants must be 16 +yrs to register. Fee: $75 + supplies ($20/20 lb. bag of clay paid to instructor)

Beginning Yoga

This is a introductory yoga course is designed to introduce you to the poses of yoga, breathing techniques and Patanjali’s 8 limbs of yoga.  To successfully help individuals manage stress while obtaining a moderate exercise experience.  Each class will start with a warm up, Sun Salutation A, Sun Salutation B, specific poses for the week, a breathing technic combined with a specific stress intention to help manage stress in our daily lives.  We will touch on the 8 limbs of yoga to eliminate pain, stress, and help build a stronger yoga community in Cassia County.  Please bring a water bottle, yoga mat, (or a mat may be provided by the college) and dress comfortably.

Mini-Cassia Leadership

Leadership MC continues to seek the brightest, best, most energetic and interested participants.  To be considered your company must be a member in good standing of the Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce.  There’s no better way to develop your leadership skills, get to know the Mini-Cassia area, and discover ways to contribute to your community.  This class provides an inside look at how community leaders and businesses are getting the job done, as well as develop lifelong contacts.
 
Established in 2004, the Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce has been preparing future leaders through its Leadership MC program.
 
Program Goals:
  • Enhance knowledge of and commitment to the mini-cassia area.
  • develop leadership skills & form beneficial professional relationships.
  • stimulate an understanding of the forces & trends affecting the development of the community, and to enhance cooperation for the advancement of the mini-cassia area.
  • bring together people who welcome the opportunity to expand their involvement in community affairs & are willing to explore new leadership responsibilities.

Painting with Acrylics

Explore the dynamics and versatility of acrylics paints. Learn the basics of brush selection, color mixing, surface preparation, and a variety of texturing techniques to create your own unique masterpiece. Painting fundamentals will be discussed. Idaho Boater Safety

The Cassia County Sheryff's office, in partnership with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation and Idaho Watersports , will be offering a FREE boater safety class. this 6 hour class will educate new boat owners, paddlers and the genral public on all aspects of safe boat operations, navigation rules, water survival and legal requirements for operating a boat on Idaho Waters. Graduates will receive a prrof of completion card.
Pre-registration is required. Students who complete the class will receive a $50 Gift certificate from Idaho Watersports. to register please contact Sgt. Taylor at 208-878-9358 or Andrea at Idaho Watersport at 208-678-5869
