1/12/2024 | Music has the power to move the masses and few artists understand that better than Jake McVey. A relentless road dog who performs 250+ dates a year, McVey has earned a loyal fan base that's addicted to his fiery stage show and arsenal of ear-grabbing songs. A compelling performer who combines his upbeat music and a youthful enthusiasm with a seasoned eye for reading a crowd, McVey gives his all at every show. "It's all about entertaining the fans and showing each and every person in the room a good time." He's shared the stage with some of country's most acclaimed acts, including Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and Dierks Bentley. With a chockfull touring calendar, growing social numbers, and new music that he's gearing up to release, McVey has come a long way but hasn't forgotten where he came from. "I'm just a good Iowa boy who likes to work hard," he says with a grin. "I was brought up with a great work ethic. I was raised that when the sun is shining, it's time to make hay. That's just who I am. I love to work." McVey drew inspiration from challenges to pen his single, "Never Give Up," though the song and video has now taken on an (initially) unintentional life of its own. "It isn't just the big, tragic moments that can get you down, it's the day-to-day that can get pretty heavy. From the small-town farmer to the selfless service men and women, our communities are filled with hard workers who make sacrifices every day to play their important roles in our communities and within their own families." The music video, where he plays a farmer and single father who's struggling to support his family by day, and a volunteer fireman by night, is set for release in late August. McVey dedicates the video to first responders in hopes that they, too, will be inspired to push on and "Never Give Up." "If I've learned anything, it's that you just have to keep going. Through the good and the bad, you have to find what keeps you moving and just 'never give up.'" more info... |

1/19/2024 | Singer-songwriter and artist Brady Seals has a pedigree for success. He is related to numerous music industry heavyweights including, Jimmy Seals (Seals & Crofts), Dan Seals (England Dan & John Ford Coley), and country songwriters Troy Seals (Songwriting Hall of Fame Member) and Chuck Seals. Throughout his career, Brady Seals has sold over 11 million albums, topped three genres simultaneously, and his songs continue to captivate audiences and attract licenses for TV, radio, and film. A touring musician since the age of 16, Brady Seals is probably best known for his tenure in Little Texas. During his six years as keyboardist and co-lead singer for the multi-platinum group, they were voted ACM's Vocal Group of the Year Award and received two Grammy nominations. Little Texas celebrated three consecutive number one hits with What Might Have Been, God Blessed Texas, and My Love, all of which Seals co-wrote, granting him the ASCAP Triple Play Award. In 1996 Seals pursued a solo career, collaborating with the legendary Rodney Crowell to co-produce his Warner Brothers album, The Truth. It features a duet with Wynonna Judd, Another You, Another Me that sold over 100,000 singles. A self-titled CD followed in 1998 with guest appearances by Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Timothy B. Schmidt (The Eagles), Bela Fleck, and Max Carl (.38 Special). Seals then explored the pop/rock genre from 1999-2001 by engineering, producing, and writing the album Thompson Street, collaborating with pop innovator Andy Sturmer (Jellyfish). In 2002 Seals formed Hot Apple Pie (DreamWorks). Comprised of extraordinary musicians, the music industry dubbed the band "Music City's Super Group." Hot Apple Pie's self-titled debut was released in 2005 featuring country music icon, Willie Nelson. The band quickly made history when they became the highest-selling debut country group in the Neilson SoundScan era. Their entry single, Hillbillies Love It In The Hay went Top 20. The video shot to #1 on VH-1 Country and was among CMT's "Top 20 Sexiest Videos." Seals spent the next two years with Hot Apple Pie playing large venues in North America and Canada. They played the Grand Ole Opry, major festivals such as Summerfest, and opened for country giants Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. Fans clamored for tickets to see and hear their live show as word spread about the amazing musicianship and Seals' "Jagger-esque" stage appeal. Hot Apple Pie gained the respect of music industry insiders and established acts due to their tight harmonies, agile playing skills, and charismatic stage antics. In 2008 Seals released an independent solo CD called "Play Time" featuring friends, Richard Marx and Stan Lynch (Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers) and hit the road again. He spent two years performing in clubs, theaters and other venues across the country. When 2015 rolled around Seals along with his friend and co-writer, Gordon Kennedy founded the songwriter show called Music City Pickers LIVE! featuring artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Larry Stewart (Restless Heart), Richie McDonald (Lonestar), Peter Frampton, and many other hit-makers. In 2016 Brady paired up with Lua Crofts (daughter of Darrell "Dash" Crofts) to form Seals & Crofts 2. Audiences can now experience the music of 70s rock duo Seals & Crofts in a whole new way. They can hear the hits Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, and We May Never Pass This Way (Again), artfully re-imagined with a reverent nod to the past. The project will feature many popular Seals & Crofts classics, as well as new songs from Seals & Crofts 2. 2016 also brought on another musical project for Seals. He was also asked to front a Tom Petty tribute band called The Petty Junkies. The group is comprised of the who's who of Nashville professional studio musicians and artists who have been very successful in their own right. Well over 300 hit songs have been penned, played on, sung, or produced by the members of this band. Brady recently released his version of the iconic hit, God Blessed Texas along with a new memoir called God Blessed Texas & Me Too. He's currently booking shows for 2021. more info... |

Centerstone will co-host, along with Illinois First Judicial Circuit, Heritage Behavioral Health and Kane County System of Care, the no-cost “The Belonging Need: Part 1” webinar on January 24 from 9-11 a.m. CT featuring advocate, speaker and former NFL player Gaelin Elmore. CEUs will be available. “The Belonging Need: Part 1” is geared toward youth-serving professionals, however everyone is welcome to attend. To register or for more information, visit bit.ly/012424belonging. The purpose of this webinar is to develop the awareness of the belonging need, specifically:
Belonging is a vital component of human flourishing. However, youth who have experienced traumatic and adverse situations often lack a sense of belonging, which can hinder their relationships, development, and their future. Elmore believes that the only thing that was more powerful and long lasting than the trauma that he experienced was the belonging that he encountered. After a childhood filled with trauma, abuse, neglect, and homelessness, Gaelin believed that his issues would be solved if he became successful. From college football to signing an NFL contract, Gaelin was driven, even comforted, by this assumption. It wasn’t until Gaelin achieved what he thought was “success” (making it to the NFL), that he finally realized he had been wrong all along. And so, Gaelin retired as a rookie to begin his journey of self-love, self-discovery, and belonging. That journey has led Gaelin here today, and to stages all across the country, aiming to inspire, encourage, and equip others, to erase the belonging gap plaguing youth with adverse childhood experiences. Gaelin lives in Eden Prairie, MN, where he gets to experience the purest form of belonging, as a husband to his wife, Micaela, and a dad to their two daughters, Laniah and Tatum. CEUs are being applied for through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR- counseling/social work) and the Illinois Certification Board. “Centerstone’s Building Compassionate Communities (BCC) program is thrilled to partner with the Illinois First Judicial Circuit, Heritage Behavioral Health and Kane County System of Care to bring in Gaelin to work his time, talent and treasure with our region to tell his inspiring story,” said Dr. David Mills, Centerstone BCC grant coordinator. This webinar is a part of “The Belonging Need” training series, which includes:

With sales in excess of 20 million, most associate the band with their arena-rock pop smashes, "Hold On Loosely," "Rockin' Into the Night,' "Caught Up in You," "Fantasy Girl," "If I'd Been the One," "Back Where You Belong," "Chain Lightnin'," "Second Chance," and more - Timeless hits that remain a staple at radio, immediately recognizable from the first opening chord, and paving the way to their present-day touring regimen. Guitarist/vocalist DON BARNES says it's all about maintaining that intensity in their live shows. "We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years. We're a team, and it's always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don't slack up, we stack up. We go out there every night to win." Completing the team is bassist BARRY DUNAWAY, drummer GARY MOFFATT and keyboardist/vocalist BOBBY CAPPS. The most recent addition to the band is legendary virtuoso guitarist and vocalist JERRY RIGGS. Since 1976, the band has released more than 15 albums. And from the start, they've toured relentlessly, bringing their signature brand of 'muscle and melody' to fans worldwide.
