"Christmas Cowboy style" is a celebration of a traditional western Christmas. The show is hosted by artist Jeremy McComb and features a masterclass in crowd connection with Christmas music and cowboy poetry from: Michael Martin Murphy, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, Garth Brooks and more.

The Festival of Wreaths is underway. Stop in the library to see wreath and centerpieces in person.  The Silent Auction will end on Friday Dec 6th at approximately 6:30 pm.

A traveling exhibit by the National Orphan Train Complex will be on view at Ottawa Library Nov. 18 - Dec. 27 during library hours. M - Th 9-8pm, Fri 9-5pm and Sat 9-1pm
(except when closed for Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 28, 29 and Christmas holiday Dec. 24,25).  You can learn about how the orphan trains brought hundreds of children from the east into the midwest in search of finding homes for them. Some personal stories of orphans are shared.

Letters from an Orphan is also on exhibit. Letters from a local orphan who traveled on the orphan trains is in our glass case in the Reference department. You can read correspondence between "Gussie" and the Children's Aid Society Agents, as well as others that helped her find her roots. Photographs and souvenirs are also on display.
