| 11/14/2024 | Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce Invites you to CRASH COURSE IN GRANTS Thursday, November 14, 2024 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM CCAC South Campus 1750 Clairton Rd West Mifflin, PA 15122 Room G-311 CRASH COURSE IN GRANTS Description: The World of Grants often shifts to work on social and economic issues by offering funding for nonprofits, community groups, creative projects, minority-owned businesses, and essential needs in low-income communities. This short course is packed with practical information and tools for individuals and organizations who want to learn or refresh skills in grant proposal writing. Participants will gain an understanding of grant schemes and scams, eligibility for grants and steps in the grant-seeking process, where to find funding in Allegheny County, and basic proposal writing by developing their idea into a draft short proposal and basic budget with feedback from the trainer. Takeaways include PowerPoint notes, proposal and budget worksheets, and a resource list. Bio: Katherine FH Heart, GPC, M.Ed. at Heart Resources, LLC offers grant services and training in Western PA and nationally. She earned the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential in 2013 and was designated an Approved Trainer by the Grant Professionals Association in 2014. Katherine has presented numerous grant training workshops and courses since 2008 and is the author of Grantepreneur: Getting Started in a Grant Career and Business. Before discovering the grants profession, she was a nonprofit program and training manager for 15 years. Heart Resources, LLC is a member of the Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce.
