12/2/2022	VAHCC COPA Tournament & Reception COPA VAHCC SOCCER TOURNAMENT & RECEPTION Compete, have fun and network with chamber members, partners and guests of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has partnered with The St. James Sports Complex to host COPA VAHCC, a fun and inclusive mini-soccer tournament for members and friends of the Chamber to unite around the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament and celebrate the Beautiful Game. Teams will play a series of 5v5 round-robin games in The St. James Field House on Friday, December 2nd from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Following the conclusion of the round robin phase, the top two teams will advance to a championship final in order to determine which team will lift the first-ever COPA VHCC trophy. Immediately following the tournament, all participants and guests will gather in the The St. James Ballroom for an awards ceremony and reception presented by members of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided by Vim & Victor, the official gourmet restaurant of The St. James. During the reception, guests will be able to enjoy televised broadcasts of the Ghana x Uruguay and South Korea x Portugal 2022 FIFA World Cup matches. If don't have a team but would like to attend the reception portion of the event, please register and your guests. Join us on Thursday, December 15th at 11 am to learn more about how your business could claim employee retention credit (ERC) What is the ERC? The Employee Retention Credit is a tax credit created by the U.S. government to encourage smaller businesses to retain employees during COVID-19 shutdowns and slowdowns. How do I get a cash refund from the ERC? The ERC is a federal payroll tax credit for payroll tax periods in 2020 & 2021. In most cases, tax credits reduce the total amount of taxes owed. In the case of ERC not only does it reduce your taxes owed, but if your taxes owed are reduced to zero you are entitled to compensation above and beyond your original tax liability. If your business has previously filed 2020 and 2021 payroll taxes, you can retroactively claim the ERC to reduce your tax debt and where applicable receive a surplus credit, which can result in a cash refund. more info...
