Boulder City residents are lucky to be able to see a popular American play, right in their neighborhood!. American Son, under the director of Torrey Russell. The performances take place on Saturday, January 15 and Saturday, January 29 at 2:00PM. The performances take place at the Los Angeles Water and Power Building, located at 600 Nevada Way, where it intersects Wyoming Avenue. There is NO COST for the performances, but you must register for tickets through Eventbrite. There will be a talkback session with the cast following the performance.
The performers are part of a local touring group called Broadway in the HOOD (Helping Others Open Doors). The play is being presented by A Source of Joy Theatricals and sponsored by the Nevada Arts Council.
The play is about an estranged couple who meet at a police station in Florida when their 18-year-old son is missing. The play, by Christopher Demos-Brown has been made into a feature film and television film.
