Join us the first week in June for Be Your Own Boss Camp, 8:30am-4pm at NICC Cresco Center.Don’t spend another summer on the couch! Get a head start on building your own entrepreneurial business instead. Join this week-long camp (for students who will have completed 4th or 5th grades in June) for an action-packed, experiential, STEM-based program that introduces you to the basics of starting a business and becoming your own boss. Along with field trips and face-to-face meetings with area business owners, you will develop a business plan, create marketing materials, and pitch your ideas in a ‘Shark Tank’-style presentation at the end of the week - all with the help of business professionals. Before you know it, you’ll have the confidence and skills needed to start that babysitting, lawn-mowing or pet-sitting service you’ve been thinking about! You will learn basic weld concepts, practice hands-on welding and create an actual project to take home. All in all, you’ll be equipped with basic knowledge and skills to begin the craft of welding.
