The City of North Miami Beach Mayor and Commission will host a Farm Share Drive-Thru Food Distribution on Friday, April 14, 2023The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Kevin R. Sims Aquatic Center at Victory Park (located at 1980 NE 171st Street North Miami Beach, FL 33162) Thank you to Joshua's Heart Foundation, Farm Share, and Miami Diaper Bank for making these events possible. Friday, April 14, Join NMB's Discovery Library for Discovering Matthew's World," an art exhibition Bringing awareness to Autism 6:30 PM at NMB's Discovery Library. "Discovering Matthew's World," is an art exhibition that demonstrates the unique perspective of individuals on the autism spectrum. The presentation will showcase the works of Matthew, a young artist on the spectrum, and his interpretation of the world around him. This exhibition is a celebration of diversity and inclusion and will spark conversations about autism to encourage a greater understanding and acceptance of individuals on the spectrum.

April 22- Celebrate - The City of NMB Heritage DayJoin us for a day filled with fun, food, and cultural celebration at the Washington Park Community Center on Washington Park’s Heritage Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023. This event promises to be an exciting experience with a wide range of activities that everyone can enjoy. From 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the park will be transformed into a lively hub of activities, including a bounce house for the kids, a live DJ, and a variety of food vendors. For the sports enthusiasts, there will be a Mr. Marlvin Phillips Basketball 3 on 3 pickup game. Music lovers will also be treated to a fantastic performance by the Larry Dogg band, who will be performing live on stage. And for those who enjoy cultural festivities, the Junkanoos will be bringing their energetic parade to the park. NMB Library, Thursday, April 27, 2023, 6:00 PM Autism Workshop by Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Amy Salzman Amy Salzman, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), will be presenting an Autism Workshop at North Miami Beach Discovery Library. This workshop is designed to provide valuable insights and strategies for parents, caregivers, and educators working with individuals on the autism spectrum. The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023, 6:00 PM at the library. During the workshop, Ms. Salzman will cover a range of topics, including behavior management techniques, communication strategies, and social skills development. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in interactive activities.

4/28 NMB Police Annual Golf Tournament & Fundraiser to raise funds for PAL benefitting NMB childrenThe North Miami Beach Police Athletic League (NMBPAL) mission purpose is to engage the youth of our community through sports and educational activities with law enforcement; to build positive relationships and prevent juvenile delinquency.
The goal of the North Miami Beach PAL Program is to create a bond between the youth of North Miami Beach and Police Officers through academics, cultural and artistic programming, as well as sports and mentorship; so that the youth are empowered to resist the negative influences of the streets. The North Miami Beach PAL Program vision is to include education, tutoring, arts and crafts, dance, cheerleading, flag football, social services, vocational guidance, entrepreneurship, leadership development, healthy choice initiatives, and field trips. North Miami Beach PAL provides free after-school and athletic programs and mentorship for youth, ages 5 through 18 years of age.
Today, it is vital to keep children engaged in activities that will steer them away from trouble. NMB PAL is a youth crime prevention program that provides athletic and educational activities for children, primarily those in high-risk economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Through a wide range of activities, youngsters are given opportunities to expand beyond the borders of their everyday environment alongside police officers, youth counselors, and volunteers who serve as coaches, teachers, friends, and positive role models. NMB PAL teaches fair play, courtesy, and consideration for others, and provides quality programs and activities which contribute to the character, integrity, physical and mental fitness, citizenship, sportsmanship, and personal well-being of the children in our program. It is all about “Cops Helping Kids Succeed!”
